Help Us Educate More People!
Our goal is to have a major impact in how U.S. History is taught in classrooms and portrayed in media. After seeing Far East Deep South, we hope that when people learn and discuss segregation and exclusionary immigration laws, they will include the Asian American experience. We want our film to be seen by as many people as possible. In light of current conditions, we're doing more virtual film screenings and discussions. Putting on screenings at schools, museums, libraries and promoting the film requires a lot of resources. It also requires subscriptions to a variety of website and software services to make these events happen securely.
We also know that many schools have been hit with budget cuts and lack the resources to purchase an educational license through our distributor, New Day Films, for their school. We want to make our film accessible to more schools so we're introducing our FIRST CLASS INITIATIVE. We are creating a special fund that will enable teachers at middle schools, high schools and community colleges to screen our film in their classes for the first time and engage their students in discussion with a study guide. We also plan to host special workshops to help teachers incorporate the history shared in Far East Deep South in their curriculum.
We hope you'll consider partnering with us to bring our film to more students. Please consider making a tax-deductible contribution to our FIRST CLASS INITIATIVE and other ongoing outreach efforts to our fiscal sponsor, Artists for Community Transformation, a qualified 501(c)3 non-profit arts organization. Every penny helps us educate more people! Make a donation securely online below. For donations via check, charitable fund or employer match, scroll to bottom.
